Hard Work by Roy Williams

I was Tarheel born, even though I grew up in a pack of N.C. State fans. I credit my brother for influencing my decision to wear Carolina blue.

Over the years I have followed Carolina Basketball but I just now got around to reading the autobiography of Roy Williams, the current head coach for the men's basketball team. I am sure I am biased, but I like Coach Williams a lot. I love his story. When you read his story, "hard work" pretty much sums it up.

I have a young son who is really starting to get into basketball and because I cheer for Carolina, he's decided to as well. Over the years I have been proud of the Carolina teams, not because of the players but because of the coaches. From Dean Smith to Roy Williams, I love what they do for the game and the players, but more importantly I love the kind of people they are. I'm glad that my son cheers for a team that has a good leader.

If you are a Carolina fan, you need to read this book. I love that Coach Williams is simple minded and places emphasis on relationships. You can't help but cheer for the guy when you read it.
