Product Management for Churches

I just returned from a seminar by Pragmatic Marketing on a market-driven model for managing and marketing technology products. Somewhere in the midst of this 2 day experience it occurred to me that the framework they were teaching could be extremely valuable to churches.

Without getting bogged down in the details of the framework, there is one piece of the puzzle that applies to churches everywhere. The cornerstone of the framework is to identify Market Problems. If churches seek to reflect the image of God through serving others and ultimately introduce them to Christ, then we serve others by knowing their problems and helping them overcome.

 
Of all the people your congregation could serve, what problems exist that a group of people have in common that your congregation could solve?  How can you solve it in a way that no other congregation can?

Churches who answer these questions, are the ones growing.
