Finding Forrester (the Movie)

People have always struggled with remembering whether my name is Forrest or ForrestER.

Apparently, people also have the same difficulty remembering the title of the movie, staring Sean Connery and Rob Brown. Google alerts for "Finding Forrest" are mostly filled with results of people who list the movie as Finding Forrest rather than Finding Forrester.

So, I thought I would provide a link to the movie for all of those who end up here looking for more info about the movie. It's a good one. You may also enjoy Dead Poet's Society and Good Will Hunting. All three are good movies to watch before taking exams. You won't be smarter but you might feel smarter!

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University

For those of you who are local to Franklin/Brentwood/Nashville, Tennessee, we are going to be hosting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at Otter Creek. Everyone I know who has taken this course seriously, has had their lives significantly impacted. Here's one story...

I like this story because it goes beyond just getting out of debt. It inspires getting out of debt so that you can give!

With the earthquake that shook Haiti two days ago, imagine what you could be doing for those who were trapped under buildings if you weren't trapped under debt.

The class at Otter Creek will begin on February 21, 2010 at 3:00p and run for 13 weeks.Reblog this post [with Zemanta]

Intuition and the Curse of Knowledge

The Marketing Experiments blog wanted to know if you could choose which email design worked best in a Pier 1 email campaign. I always enjoy participating in these exercises because they are usually a challenge. In this particular case study, I was the only one who chose correctly in the comments.

Today's excercise has inspired me to re-read Malcolm Gladwell's book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. I am wondering if there is a threshold for when intuition is lost and the curse of knowledge takes over. If so, how do you discover that threshold?
