Poor kid. I still wonder why the coach had these guys deep like this. What's the point? They had the lead.
Justification by N.T. Wright
I am wrapping up N.T. Wright's latest book Justification: God's Plan & Paul's Vision. I appreciate N.T. Wright's approach to biblical theology very much and find what he has to say to be very refreshing. Justification is actually a response to John Piper's book The Future of Justification: A Response to NT Wright. I have not read Piper's book but will consider adding it to my list.
N.T. Wright does a fantastic job addressing the topic of justification. I really appreciate his effort to highlight the issues related to when one tries to use justification as a synonym for righteousness. His background through the Old Testament also did a good job to set up an exegesis for Galatians and Romans and how Paul's view of justification is influenced from God's overarching story of redemption going back to the story of Abraham.
Sometimes it seems that Wright will take extra caution to set up his arguments, and often I want him to quickly get to his point instead. Nonetheless, it is all worth getting through. Anyway, there's a lot of good takeaways in the book, and I'd put it on your reading list right away.
An Art to Surveys
This year several us decided to try out FOXSports.com for our fantasy football league. The day of the opening game FOX still did not have all the bugs worked out, so we quickly moved over to ESPN.com before the first kickoff between the Titans and Steelers. Strike 1.
I tried reporting bugs and contacting FOX through MSN, which is who they are partnering with to run the fantasy league and I did get a response. Some guy in a cube basically said, "You need to send your question [here] instead."
For real? Could he not have just passed it along to the right place? That was strike 2.
Today, I logged in to see if I could figure out how to delete this league since none of us want emails from FOX anymore. While I was logged in a survey popped up to give feedback about the site. I almost never take surveys but was I interested this time? You bet.
The survey was going good. I was able to express some of my dissatisfaction with the site until about half way through the survey. That's when they started asking how many vehicles I own and what kind they were.
Are you kidding me? What does that have to do with the Web site? Strike 3 for wasting my time again. I aborted the survey and started blogging.
Here's my point. If you are going to give survey's make sure you are asking good questions and that all of the questions are in some way related to what your survey said it would be about. I've seen good surveys and there is an art to asking the right questions but anyone can ask the wrong ones.

Restaurant Communion

With that in mind, I wonder what would happen if restaurants started providing complimentary grape juice or wine along with some unleavened bread.
