Max Lucado's Fearless

This morning, Max Lucado spoke to our team on the topic of fear which is also the subject of his most recent book Fearless.

Lucado referenced the story of Jesus being asleep in a boat while a storm caused his disciples panic on the sea. From that story, he made two statements that I thought summed up his talk and I also imagine they are also two statements that will convince you to read his book.
“Fear is the perceived loss of control”.

“Fear causes us to question the goodness of God.”
Lucado also suggested fear is something you should listen to when it knocks at the front door, but you should never invite fear in for dinner. If you turn on the television, read the paper, or talk with your neighbor, there does seem to be a spirit of fear in our culture right now.

I'm adding his book to my reading list.

  1. Good summary without having read the book! You should move it ahead to the front of the list. You can read it in a day or two. That was a cool opportunity - to hear him speak.
