Nashville Sounds [Good]

There's a little baseball team that's been around since the 70's called the Nashville Sounds. Currently they are the minor league team affiliated with Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers.

If you've lived in the greater Nashville area for very long, then you've heard of the Sounds. Odds are most people don't know very much about the players, the coaches, or the owners. In fact, most people probably don't know that the sounds currently lead their division in the Pacific Coast League, much less do they even know what the PCL even is.

I'll admit, that having lived in middle Tennessee now for the last 14 years, I've only known the Sounds by name and been to a handful of games. However, with the recent news of drug use in the majors and teams shelling out big bucks for players, I've started to appreciate the minor league level a lot more. Thanks to my friends over at the old ball game, I've started to pay attention a little more to players and stats of our local team.

There's something different about following the Sounds compared to following the Titans and Predators. I know the crowds aren't as big and the stakes aren't as high, but going to a Sounds game is being as much a part of Nashville as any other sporting event. Maybe it has something to do with the rich history of baseball in Tennessee going back to 1901 when the Nashville Vols were organized. The sounds aren't Atlanta or St. Louis and they aren't MLB, but it's what we have. And what we have is what we should appreciate.
