Camping with family

Car Camping at Hunting Island State Park, Sout...Image via Wikipedia

A few weeks ago I heard the statement, "a family that camps together stays together." The statement was backed up by statistical research. There's something about the hardships that are associated with camping that brings families closer and creates cherished memories.

If you really love camping, then this is good news for you. If you really love your family, then this is better news for you.

  1. We are not campers. We prefer to vacation at 4 star resorts. I think just going on vacation as a family creates plenty of cherished memories.

  2. I'm with Cocotte on this one. I'm not much of a camping girl with snakes, bugs, and wildlife. It's pretty from a distance, but I'll sleep in a comfortable bed, thankyouverymuch.

  3. True. I suppose there are more perceived "near death" experiences with camping that cause families to become closer.

  4. Hey Ben, great job Sunday. And I heard this stat from a church leader in Indianapolis when we visited there recently, about families that camp together...very cool. I want our family to go camping soon, I think it would be great, and I think the whole experience is entirely different than being at a 4 star resort, which we have tried as well. (gathering firewood to cook dinner, as opposed to going out to eat or ordering room service, etc.) Anyway, hey, i had to unsubscribe from your email feeds...it would lock up my Outlook for some weird reason. But I still plan to read your blog! Take it easy.

  5. Thanks Murray! Sorry the email feed is messed up. I recommend using the rss feed instead.

Glad to know you have heard the same research.
