I saw the following commercial on television for the first time last night.
I'm a little disturbed that Burger King would use this Sir Mix-a-Lot classic with girls in tight outfits shaking their square butts to sell a Sponge Bob kids meal to my 2 year old.
I'm not usually one to make mention of this kind of stuff, but it really hit me the wrong way.

Um, that is so tacky. And to 2-year-olds? Even tackier!
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing freaks me out a bit...especially the Burger King character. How exactly is this supposed to attract new customers?
ReplyDeleteI am with you on this one!
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people who are disturbed by this commercial. I don't even let my kids watch Spongebob. And we actually rarely eat at BK. But this is very tacky!! Why do we keep promoting adult themes to small children?
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are targeting kids with that ad. I believe it's targeted at their twenty something parents who themselves are Sponge Bob fans, thus the edgy and weird feel of the ad.
ReplyDeleteNo Way! That gives me the creeps.
ReplyDeleteThey just flat out what you to eat high fat burgers, so that you get a big fat ass! What a joke. They can't even pretend to be concerned about our health.
