Searching for Perfection

If you want to model something you are working on after perfection then you will spend most of your time in search of perfection and never begin work.

The model doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to work. Not everything that works is perfect, but it's easier to come by.

The point is to get started early and with each iteration, you eventually excel to perfection.

  1. 100% agreed. What you're describing is the school of leadership I come from - get started early and make each iteration better. It's the "let's make something and we'll adjust course along the way!" mode of thought.

If you wait for everything to be perfect before you begin, you'll never start.

  2. Perfection is a cruel taskmaster which keeps us from doing anything while demanding everything. It criticizes every action we take or don't take. It is much better to take any step than a perfect step.
